TITLE: THE FLUTIST

This piece was inspired by my experience as a flutist. My teacher often encouraged me to project the "calm blue of the ocean" or play sharply "like a knife scraped across burnt toast." Visualizing these sensations and projecting them is what developed my sound as a musician.

In the calm following surges of excitement and anxiety surrounding monumental milestones, life feels almost dreamlike. I wanted to capture that feeling of finally laying back to relax after an event, showered in medals or flowers, still dressed in elegant attire, floating through the aftermath.

Often when editing photos I find myself cranking up the saturation to create a more exuberant world. If I were provided the opportunity to apply Adobe Lightroom to my retina, this is about the level of vibrance I would adjust my preset to.
